San Giovanni is a working Roman neighbourhood — restaurants that fill with locals, proper shops, a market — and it happens to sit on top of a metro station. From there the Colosseum, St Peter's, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps are all a few stops away, which is the trade you make: you sleep among Romans and commute to the monuments in minutes rather than paying centre prices.

The apartment was completely renovated with high-quality finishes and is unusually generous for a group of six: a refined living room, a modern well-equipped kitchen, two comfortable bedrooms and two contemporary bathrooms. A small furnished terrace with two tables takes care of breakfast.
